Elden Ring Nightreign: The Forsaken Hollows DLC finally gets a release date and trailer
New Nightfarers, fearsome bosses, and shifting earth await.
Fans of Elden Ring Nightreign can finally rest easy. During the State of Play broadcast focused on titles from Japan, FromSoftware announced what many had been waiting for since its launch. The multiplayer game finally has details and a release date for its DLC, which will be called The Forsaken Hollows.
This expansion unleashes a new abomination known as The Dreglord, one of the new final bosses that players will have to face. In addition to the fearsome Dreglord, the expansion adds two new third-day bosses, providing teams with more high-value objectives and rewards. That includes the iconic Artorias from Dark Souls as well as the Dancing Lion from the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, and a field boss version of the Gladius Nightlord.
To help players face these new threats, two new Nightfarers join the fray, introducing new abilities and playstyles to the already diverse character selection. The Scholar, an academic who walks the Lands Between. Boasting impressive arcane levels, he gains incredible advantages through battlefield observation. Meanwhile, the Undertaker is an abbess who was mandated to slay the Nightlord. Boasting impressive strength and faith, she sends enemies to the afterlife with ruthless efficiency. This addition allows players to experience new synergies in co-op mode, which is always key in a survival title.
The Forsaken Hollows DLC not only adds powerful enemies, but also transforms the battlefield in unprecedented ways, directly benefiting replayability and player strategy. The most notable feature is the introduction of Shifting Earth, a special game condition where the map undergoes massive geographical changes. This means that players can never completely rely on their prior knowledge of the terrain, encouraging adaptability and constant exploration.
Elden Ring Nightreign: The Forsaken Hollows DLC will be released on December 4 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
