Elden Ring still has one more secret no one has found yet, according to Miyazaki

The director of Elden Ring has revealed that, while players have found most of them, Elden Ring still holds “a small element” that hasn’t been discovered yet.

Elden Ring is absolutely full of secrets. More than a year after its release, it turns out that while the community has unveiled and deciphered many of them, there is still something hidden that no one has been able to find.

In an interview with IGN, FromSoftware CEO and director of Elden Ring Hidetaka Miyazaki has revealed that “a small element” remains hidden in the game. The director gave no clues about it, nor did he make any suggestions of how to find it or what’s it about, instead encouraging the community to continue investigating.

“For me personally, there is a small element that I feel has not yet been discovered,” said Miyazaki. “So, whether that’s up to user interpretation or up to just further investigation and playing, that’s something I’m looking forward to. I think it’s a question of when and not if, but there may be something small still missing.”

Miyazaki wants a FromSoftware where he’s not the only director

Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Elden Ring are all projects where Hidetaka Miyazaki sat on the director’s chair, unlike Dark Souls 2, a title in which he delegated that task to Tomohiro Shibuya and Yui Tanimura. But as it turns out, he doesn’t want to hog the spotlight. In the same interview, he revealed that he’d like for the studio to have other people directing their games, and not only himself.

“There is a high possibility that we would delegate responsibility of director to those other Souls-ish games going forward,” he stated. ”Yes, I think it’s very likely that we’ll see new directors going forward. And I think if we do that, I’d like to step away from that supervisory role and give them full direction and full control over those projects. I think really this is the best way and the easiest way for them to flourish within that environment and with those new projects.”

Elden Ring released on February 25, 2022 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam. Almost two years later, the studio has finally unveiled a gameplay trailer for Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, a massive expansion coming to the game on June 21, 2024.
