Elden Ring’s DLC has the hardest boss in FromSoftware history, and it’s not Rellana or Messmer

To speak about FromSoftware bosses is to talk about Manus, Kalameet, the Orphan of Kos, Malenia, Slave-Knight Gael, and Isshin Ashina. Every player remembers their names, as they are some of the toughest enemies they have ever had to face. But now, a new name is being added to the list courtesy of the Elden Ring DLC, and it looks to be simply the hardest, most difficult boss in the studio’s long-running history.

Radahn is Elden Ring’s most difficult boss

His name says it all: Radahn, Consort of Miquella. This fearsome enemy was already in Elden Ring, but it is in its DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree where he acquires the title of hardest boss in the game, and in From Software history (yes, even above Isshin Ashina). He is the final boss of the expansion and the battle is very tough, since it consists of two phases, with the second being a challenge that’ll put you to the highest test you’ve ever had in any FromSoftware game.

His repertoire of attacks is very varied and he is also capable of executing them frequently, not to mention how damaging they are. Radahn’s size is deceiving, as he moves very quickly and the reach of his arms is enormous.

Is he tougher than Malenia?

That’s a good question, as Malenia became infamous due to the many players that died at her blade and her Waterfowl Dance attack. However, she’s not as tough as this new version of Radahn for a single reason: her moves are much more predictable, and it’s easier to memorize her patterns. Besides, Malenia tends to lower her hostility if you make some space between you and her, which makes breaking off the fight to heal much easier.
