The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim
The animated film will be released on December 13, 2024. It will be directed by Kenji Kamiyama and will be set 183 years before the events that occurred in ‘The Lord of the Rings’.
Tales of the Shire
Made by Weta, the special effects company that has worked on ‘The Lord of the Rings’ and ‘The Hobbit’ by Peter Jackson, and that also makes video games and is currently working on one about the saga. Tales of the Shire will be released in 2024.
Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings MMO
One of the most anticipated games by fans of Tolkien’s work is the MMO made by Amazon Games. A game that was initially discarded, but in 2023 it was announced again that it was in development. A title that aims to be massive and will be based on the literary work of ‘The Lord of the Rings’ and ‘The Hobbit’.

The possibilities are enormous, and the richness of Middle-earth is beyond doubt, and that is why Warner Bros. Discovery announced in 2023 that there will be new films about ‘The Lord of the Rings’. The agreement reached with the Swedish company Embracer Group AB, which owns the rights to the films and video games, will allow them to make adaptations based on the license.
