Everyone believes that GTA 6 will be a huge hit, but its creators are keeping their feet on the ground: “We try not to pump expectations”

It seems to be set in stone: GTA 6 will shake up the industry when it goes on sale. People take it for granted that the new installment in the series will not only be a hit on the market, but will also give a boost to video games, but what do they think at Take-Two Interactive? The truth is that Strauss Zelnick, the company’s CEO, has been much more cautious.
“While I couldn’t be more optimistic than I am, all of us have to do the work. We have to deliver something great to consumers and then the consumers are going to tell us just how great it is,” he said.
Will GTA 6 be delayed? Take-Two is confident it will be on time
Since its first delay, some voices have suggested that Grand Theft Auto 6 might not make its new release date of May 26, 2026. That concern has spread to shareholders, who have asked Strauss about his level of conviction in this regard. The CEO responded that his “level of conviction is very, very high” that the title will arrive on the indicated date.
Regarding its quality, the head of Take-Two Interactive added the following: “We try not to pump expectations. Rockstar’s whole stock and trade is to have these extraordinary expectations and still beat them. I know that’s their goal. I know it’s going to be an amazing game. The rest we’ll see on time.”
Another unknown factor is the price. Will it be the first game to cost $100? In recent statements, Strauss himself said that Rockstar will announce the price in due course.
