Everything new in EA SPORTS FC 24 that FIFA didn’t have
EA SPORTS FC 24 brings with it a wave of new features that were always absent from its predecessor, and some have been asked by fans for a long time.
We say goodbye to the FIFA series to make way for a new brand..EA SPORTS FC 24 is more than the future of Electronic Arts in virtual football: it is present. What awaits you in this installment that was not part of FIFA? We tell you the highlights.
New movements: the new triangle
This year’s installment incorporates a couple of actions in the game unprecedented for the franchise. We all know the importance of the triangle (or Y on the Xbox controller) during the offensive transition. The pass between the lines has always made the difference to break areas of the field behind the defenders. Until now we could use it flat or pumped: now a third option has been added.
We welcome accurate passes, which are made by combining L2+R1+Triangle (LT+RB+Y). When you do, you will see that some lines are painted on the grass that indicate the direction in which the ball will go. The really important thing is that it adds spin to the ball to be able to cover more of the pitch. Along with these, we will also see the arrival of the controlled sprint. By holding R1 (RB) while running you will make the player stay closer to the ball. The movement is perfect for skirting the area and looking for a good spot to shoot from.
Complete interface redesign
New image, new layout of the interface. The main menu takes a minimalist approach, eliminating the classic boxes to raise a cascading vertical bar. On the left side, you will clearly and easily see all the available game modes. Once you access you will see that tabs distribute the information; whatever you use the most will automatically create shortcuts.
Women’s soccer integrated into Ultimate Team
Yes, the star novelty this year is the integration of women’s football into the current Ultimate Team. The six leagues that make up the EA SPORTS FC 24 database (including this year’s F League) will be able to be chosen to be part of your team. The players’ chemistry will add to that of the players as a single unit.
The Ballon d’Or comes to Career mode
Getting rid of the FIFA brand also has a liberating aspect for Electronic Arts, as it will not have any type of limitation to link its brand to other collaborators anymore. Among those recently announced is France Football and the highest soccer award at the individual level. During Career mode you will see the Golden Ball ceremony, where soccer legends will give the long-awaited prize to the one chosen as the best player of the past year.
Pro Clubs and Volta add cross-play
The most awaited moment for fans of Pro Clubs (now called Clubs) and Volta has arrived: cross-play will be enabled from day one. Players on the same generation of consoles will be able to play against each other. On the one hand, Xbox One and PS4 will unify communities, while PS5, Xbox Series X | S, and PC will do so together.
A new version of Frostbite
The graphics engine that has been part of the series since FIFA 17 receives a visual boost that further exploits the capabilities of the latest generation hardware. At a technological level, it incorporates a new type of ambient occlusion called GTAO. This improvement makes lighting cast shadows on figures more accurately. The anatomy of the players has also been improved to be more accurate to reality, instead of going for generic bodies.
Goodbye to the Legacy Edition on Nintendo Switch
Great news for fans on Nintendo Switch. After several deliveries updating only the templates, EA SPORTS FC 24 will natively introduce the Frostbite graphics engine to the Switch version. It will come hand in hand with updates at a playable level that will equate it to what can be seen on PS4 and Xbox One
