Everything you need to know about the iPhone 16: announcement date, Pro model, colors and more

A few weeks ago, Apple announced the official date and time when the iPhone 16 will be shown to the world (you can see the date and how to see it, here). Although it’s not a big surprise that year after year Apple shows us every September what’s new in its family of their mobile phones, as well as the news in other devices, it’s always interesting to know what’s new with what will arrive. From issues as important as the color, or really important details such as improvements in the chip (and in this case, the AI), we compile some of the most striking leaks and details that we will surely know next week.

Colors of the iPhone 16

Let’s start with the important thing, with the colors that we will be able to have in the different models. For now, and without bombastic names, we expect a total of 7 colors:

Now that we have the colors, let’s move on to the purchasing options. The iPhone 16 family is expected to maintain much of what was seen in the iPhone 15 with four models, Basic, Plus, Pro and Pro Max. These are expected to be the prices that maintain those of the previous model, although the iPhone 16 Pro is also expected to raise its prices.

As for the battery, rumor has it that the Pro models will now use a technology called stacked battery, something that is just being adapted to the smartphone world but has been used for some time in medical devices and electric vehicles. This will allow these models to charge faster, according to some rumors. As for the increase in battery life, it will be less, between 2.5 and 6% depending on the model.

Although no changes are expected in the basic models, one of the main changes that raises at least the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max is to have larger displays, meaning in a growth of its size. Taking into account this information, the sizes would be as follows:

Finally, we have speculation about its release date. We have already speculated about a possible release date. Apple usually opens reservations for the new iPhone model on the first Friday after the phone is unveiled, and releases the device the following Friday. Considering that the unveiling will take place on September 7th, this would mean that reservations would open on Friday, September 13th and the phone would go on sale on Friday, September 20th.
