Update:
Everything you need to know about the Xbox credit card: free Game Pass, fees, and more.

Announced in September of this very year, the Xbox Mastercaard credit card is now available in the United States for a select few users. This collaboration between Microsoft and Mastercard brings with it benefits that range from special redeemable points to free access to Game Pass. Below you’ll find everything we know about this card.

What is, and how to get, the Xbox Mastercard

Created by Microsoft and Barclays, a financial institution that has backed other special credit cards, the Xbox Mastercard basically functions like any other credit card, allowing its users to make purchases with it and paying it later. There are specific fees and interests related to its use, but this specific card comes with special bonuses, from discounts to rewards.

You should know that, as of this moment, the card is only available in the US, and you have to be a member of the Xbox Insider program to be eligible to get one. If you’re already a member, you’ll have to check the Xbox Insider Hub to see if the “Xbox Mastercard” option is available to you. If it is, it means you have been invited to apply for one.

However, you still need to be approved. If you wish to register to try and obtain one, you’ll have to sign in with your Xbox Insider account details on the official Xbox Mastercard website, where you’ll be redirected to Barclay’s portal in which you’ll need to fill in an application to be granted a card.

Otherwise you’ll be subject to late or returned payment fees, which in addition to interests will add $41 USD to the amount (varies by state).
