Exoprimal announces nostalgic collaboration with Mega Man

Capcom’s game will feature cosmetics and a final battle against one of Mega Man’s most mythical enemies.

Exoprimal has announced its next free content update, and this one stands out for a crossover of Capcom itself by introducing Mega Man in the game. This is the most classic side of the blue bomber, with cosmetics of the mythical saga and a battle against a mythical boss, Yellow Devil, which will bring nightmares to all those who have played the first Mega Man, the original Famicom/NES that came out in Japan and North America in 1987, while in Europe we had to wait until 1989.

Collaborations with other Capcom licenses have already taken place in Exoprimal, with Street Fighter and Monster Hunter appearing in the game. In the trailer, we can see costumes like Mega Man and Air Man, with the mythical death animation of the saga being incorporated into the game along with mythical Mega Man themes. In addition, the fight against the Yellow Devil is set to be spectacular, a nightmarish boss that can decompose and has only one weakness.

Along with this collaboration, the fourth season of Exoprimal comes with two new game modes:

Time Loop Rebellion: A cooperative challenge that pits 10 players against the game’s final boss, the Behemoth, in an even more powerful form. By accomplishing feats in this high-stakes mode, Exofighters can earn outstanding rewards, including premium golden Exo Armor skins.

Custom Match: Players can create their lobbies and choose the map and mission they want to play.

Capcom and crossovers

The Japanese company is used to making collaborations between its titles and also with other companies. Capcom, Marvel vs. SNK or Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars are some examples. Still, there are many more, and within its licenses, we have seen collaborations such as Exoprimal and Mega Man in Monster Hunter: World. Capcom values its legacy and with these types of events it reminds us of the decades it has been in the industry and all it has created during that time.

In the analysis of our colleagues in Spain, it was highlighted that “Exoprimal is a different multiplayer. It mixes elements of PvE and PvP to find its approach to third-person shooter with classes. It’s fun, no doubt, but its progression is confusing and may turn off more than one player. The imposition of the campaign and the lockdown of game modes from the start mean you’ll need patience. If you’re patient, you’ll discover the potential it has in terms of post-release content; if not, you’ll end up tired of the repetition of aspects.
