Expedition 33 wins GOTY and gives all fans a ‘DLC’ in the form of a patch with a new area, bosses, photo mode, and more
The patch is now available for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 on all platforms.
The game of the year for 2025 has been decided: Clair Obscur Expedition 33 takes home the coveted award at The Game Awards, to no one’s surprise. What was not in the betting pools, by the way, is that its director confirmed the release of new content in the form of a shadowdrop just as he was collecting the award. Yes, a free DLC disguised as a patch that expands the game’s content is now available. An early Christmas present.
Here’s what Expedition 33 adds for free with its 1.5 patch
The most substantial addition is a new scenario “adding new content and a few fun surprises” available from Act 33 onwards. “Verso’s Drafts,” as it is called, promises important elements for those who were left wanting more. New costumes that add color to the characters are also included.
On the other hand, “challenging boss battles for late-game players to overcome within the Endless Tower.” The studio promises the introduction of iconic bosses from the adventure with a twist that brings something different, as well as more difficulty. To overcome these obstacles, you will be able to add new Luminas and weapons to your arsenal, which have not yet been specified.
Oh, and if you didn’t get the old key in the prologue, you can now get it in the final area of the game. This gives players who didn’t pick it up a “second chance” to get all the diaries in a single playthrough.
