Fans still want a sequel to Days Gone, but the studio thinks it’s “time to move on”

Even when it’s become one of the most wanted sequels on PlayStation, the studio behind Days Gone has some tough news for fans.

Millions of fans around the world still wish for a sequel to Days Gone. The departure of the director, Jeff Ross, from Bend Studios, as well as its writer, John Garvin, ended the hopes of many, but now Garvin has brought up the subject again, resurrecting a topic that does not seem to die, no matter how much the Oregon studio denies the fact that they’re not working on it.

Garvin posted on X (formerly Twitter), ensuring that before leaving he was not only working on a sequel to Days Gone...but on a complete trilogy. Garvin said that he had worked on the sequel for weeks. “I gotta say, I had a full outline for the sequel, and world map that expanded the game, all done,” he said.

Bend Studio wants to turn the page on Days Gone

What we do know is that Bend Studio is no longer thinking about it. “I apologize to our Days Gone community for continuously getting fed false hope and poor information by people looking for likes. It’s not fair to you all,” said Kevin McAllister, community manager of Bend Studio. “We are currently working on a new IP, and when we have actual news to share it will come from our studio.”

“All these type of headlines originate from previous developers, which puts us in a bad position,” continued McAllister in a response to a fan. “Like I said, people need likes. Time to move on.”
