Far Cry will have a TV series with the creator of Alien: Earth at the helm

A production that aims to differentiate itself season after season.

Update:

Video game adaptations for TV series have become a constant, and it is not for nothing: the success of this type of work is a reality. Compared to what was common a little more than a decade ago, productions have significantly improved in their production values and fidelity to the source material they adapt, resulting in greater support from fans and an increase in the number of first-time attendees.

Ubisoft has been one of the most prominent video game companies for decades and is betting big on adaptations. Now it’s Far Cry’s turn, with a TV series directed by Noah Hawley, creator of Alien: Earth and Fargo, and Rob McElhenney, of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

A video game that will also come to television

Far Cry is one of Ubisoft’s most prominent licenses and the French company itself announced its arrival to television on its official website. Although they have removed the ad, some users managed to see it and capture it. In addition to the people in charge, it has also been highlighted that each season of the series would have a new location and characters, thus following the original formula of the games.

There is already an Assassin’s Creed series confirmed on Netflix, a Watch Dogs movie and even an animated series about Splinter Cell. It is not the first time that Ubisoft sees some of its most famous sagas take the step to the film and television industry, but now it is much more mature when it comes to making these kinds of adaptations. By the way, it is not the first time that Far Cry comes to television; in fact, it already had an anime based on Blood Dragon, the curious expansion of Far Cry 3.
