Farewell to Kizaru’s dominance: 7 ‘One Piece’ characters stronger than the Marine Admiral
As the series evolves, once-untouchable figures like Kizaru are being surpassed by new legends.

In the ever-expanding world of ‘One Piece’, power dynamics are constantly shifting. Once considered one of the most fearsome forces in the Navy, Admiral Kizaru —real name Borsalino—, has seen his status challenged. Thanks to the Pika Pika no Mi, he can manipulate and become light itself, making him nearly untouchable. But with the Egghead arc in full swing, even Kizaru has met his match.
Luffy proves Kizaru is no longer untouchable
During the Egghead arc, Monkey D. Luffy confronts Kizaru head-on, using Gear 5 and Advanced Conqueror’s Haki to push the admiral to his limits. This battle marks a turning point: if Luffy can go toe-to-toe with Kizaru, who else might be stronger?

Here are seven characters who now stand above the Light Admiral:
1. Monkey D. Luffy
The protagonist himself. With Gear 5 and mastery of Haki, Luffy has surpassed Kizaru in both raw power and versatility.
2. Kuzan (Aokiji)
Once a fellow admiral, now a member of Blackbeard’s crew, Kuzan’s ice-based powers and experience make him a serious threat—even to his former colleagues.
3. Marshall D. Teach (Blackbeard)
Wielding both the Yami Yami no Mi and Gura Gura no Mi, Blackbeard is arguably the most dangerous pirate alive and a likely final antagonist.
4. Akainu (Sakazuki)
Now Fleet Admiral, Akainu’s magma-based powers and ruthless nature place him above Kizaru in both rank and strength.
5. Imu
The shadowy ruler of the World Government. While little is known about Imu’s abilities, their implied authority and mystery suggest overwhelming power.
6. Shanks
The Red-Haired Yonko is one of the strongest Haki users in the world. Even without a Devil Fruit, his presence alone can paralyze enemies.
7. Monkey D. Garp
Though aging, Garp remains a powerhouse. His legendary strength and Haki mastery still make him a force to be reckoned with.
Kizaru remains formidable, but the world of 'One Piece’ has moved forward, and so have its power rankings.
