‘Fast & Furious 11’ is bringing back a classic character who’s been missing in the series for 20 years

Vin Diesel teased the next Fast & Furious movie with an Instagram post that suggests the unexpected return of an old character.

A photo on social media can have different meanings, but for ‘Fast & Furious 11′, this last teaser marks the beginning of the end to the saga and Vin Diesel has been getting a little nostalgic on Instagram. The actor posted a photo hugging Devon Aoki, the actress who played Suki in ‘2 Fast 2 Furious’, in what some have interpreted as a possible return of the character, who has not appeared in the saga for 20 years. “One of my favorite pics of 2024,” Diesel wrote. “Two decades to this moment… as we are in preproduction for the Fast finale, Pablo sent a message, Suki. All love, always…”

In the tenth installment, Dominic Toretto discovers a list of people that Dante Reyes has been tracking in his constant quest for revenge. Suki is among them since she was a partner and friend of Brian O’Conner and Tej Parker for many years. The character is famous for her driving skills and for belonging to a gang exclusively made up of girls.

A return to origins?

The director of ‘Fast & Furious 11′, Louis Leterrier, expressed in statements to Entertainment Weekly his intention for the new movie to return to the series’ roots. Throughout all these years, the characters have taken a thousand turns and have even traveled to space. However, this time they will firmly be grounded down on Earth, although the saga has always been characterized by fantasy driving and bizarre situations. “What could I do? Time travel?”, he commented in reference to the trip to space. “There’s nothing I could have done that’s bigger than that. No way. They went to space, so I said, ‘Let’s bring her back to Earth.’”

Fast & Furious 11will premiere in 2026, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the first film.
