‘Fast & Furious’ universe grows with four television projects planned for Peacock, says Vin Diesel
Details remain scarce, but the expansion signals a major push into serialized storytelling.
The ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise has reached a point where the films are drawing ever closer to their conclusion. With eleven installments already released and ‘Fast Forever’ set to hit theaters in 2028, the cinematic future of the series appears to be heading toward a conclusion. However, the franchise still has a long way to go, now that it’s expanding into television via the Peacock streaming service.
This morning, Vin Diesel announced during NBCUniversal’s upfront presentation that a total of four television series set in the Fast & Furious universe are currently in development. “For the last decade, we’ve realized that the fans have wanted more,” Diesel said. “They wanted us to expand on the legacy characters and their stories. And for the last decade, the desire has been for us to enter the TV space that Fallon has mastered. And I had to wait until the time was right… It became the right time when Donna Langley started overseeing it all, because that’s when I knew that the integrity of the characters, the international appeal, and what makes us all feel like family would be protected in the TV space… The news I have here today is that Peacock is launching four shows from the ‘Fast & Furious’ universe.”
What Can We Expect from ‘Fast & Furious’ on TV?
Despite the announcement made by Diesel, who will serve as one of the executive producers, details have remained under wraps for now and, in some respects, are contradictory. On the one hand, sources at Variety report that, although there was talk of four series in development, only one is currently in active production, while the others are in various early stages of development. As for the plots, Diesel did not offer specific details about what to expect from these series, though he reiterated that the story and legacy the franchise has built over the years will be respected.

It’s also worth noting that this isn’t the first time the franchise has made its way to television, as there was an animated series titled ‘Fast & Furious: Spy Racers’ on Netflix that ran for six seasons between 2019 and 2021.
