Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves announces Gato’s return, who is ready for revenge
One by one, SNK is revealing the motivations behind each of the fighters in the new Fatal Fury installment.
Despite the fact that we are already in the final stretch of the year, it seems that fighting game fans still have one or two pieces of news to get excited about before the end of 2024. Especially those fans of SNK’s fighting games, who in the past few months have welcomed the arrival of KOF XIII Global Match on Steam.
During the celebration of the SCS tournament finals in Shanghai, the company took the opportunity to reveal a new fighter to join the roster of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. It is the turn of Gato, who now returns seeking revenge after being nearly blinded in the last tournament by an attack from his father (because we already know how these father-son conflicts are). You can look more about his fighting style below:
Official character description and release date for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves
According to the official description provided by SNK, Gato has been able to regain his sight over time, but he has realized that his fighting moves are slow, so he has chosen to fight “in the dark and blind,” making him a threat to the other characters.
His fighting style looks quite polished and reminiscent of what we’ve seen in other titles such as The King of Fighters XV, which recently received Mature and Vice as playable characters, as well as a balance patch for all of the game’s characters.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves will be released on April 24, 2025. The game will be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store). The Special Edition is already available for pre-order and includes Season Pass 1, which gives you access to additional characters that will arrive throughout 2025 and early 2026.
