February’s Pokémon Presents 2026 is official: date, time, possible announcements, and how to watch live

Pokémon announces the date of the next live stream where the future of the franchise will be revealed exclusively. Everything we know about the event is here.

Update:

The Pokémon Company has already announced a key date for Pokémon Presents 2026, the digital event that will offer a glimpse into the future of the most successful entertainment franchise in history. February 27, 2026, is the date set to determine everything that is to come for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 beyond the re-release of Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, which will land in digital format on that same day. Will the new tenth generation games be shown after Scarlet and Violet?

Pokémon Presents 2026 announced: date, times, duration, and what to expect from the event on the future of the series

February 27, 2026, is Pokémon Day, commemorating the release of the first games in Japan in 1996. 2026 is a very special year, as the popular franchise celebrates its 30th anniversary. In this context, Nintendo and Pokémon have announced the date and times for Pokémon Presents 2026, which we have broken down for you below:

  • 9:00 ET
  • 8:00 CT
  • 6:00 PT

If we take Pokémon Presents 2025 as a reference, we can expect the live stream to last at least twenty minutes. Last year, the first gameplay trailer for Pokémon Legends: Z-A was shown, which hit stores in October of that same year. Therefore, everything points to the presentation of new features for already announced video games, such as Pokémon Champions, which aims to be the competitive ecosystem for official tournaments of the series in the medium and long term. This new release will arrive in 2026 on Nintendo Switch, Android, and iOS.

On the other hand, we cannot forget the obvious: Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, the two installments of the ninth generation of the saga, were released in 2022. Considering Pokémon’s usual release window, it doesn’t seem unreasonable to expect some kind of preview of the rumored Pokémon Wind and Pokémon Wave—names yet to be confirmed—which would be the two installments of the tenth generation. Another reasonable assumption would point to their exclusivity to Nintendo Switch 2 for two main reasons: to leave behind the notorious technical limitations of the first Switch, and to boost sales of the new console launched in 2025.

The countdown has already begun.
