FFXIV announces Tom Morello collaboration for Patch 7.4’s raid music

In a massive surprise for the Final Fantasy XIV community, Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida revealed a high-octane musical collaboration during the recent Letter from the Producer Live XC. The broadcast confirmed that legendary guitarist Tom Morello, best known as the founder of Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave, has composed a new original track for the upcoming raid series, The Arcadion: Heavyweight Tier.

Titled “Everything Burns,” this aggressive new anthem was created in partnership with the metalcore band Beartooth. The track is set to define the atmosphere of the new high-end raids arriving with Patch 7.4, “Into the Mist,” on December 16, 2025.

A Dream Collaboration for Soken

The partnership came to light through a heartwarming connection involving Jason Charles Miller, a frequent vocal contributor to Final Fantasy XIV on tracks like “To the Edge.” Miller acted as the bridge between the two musical worlds, informing Morello that FFXIV’s lead composer, Masayoshi Soken, was a massive fan of his work.

In a video message shared during the presentation, Morello expressed his enthusiasm for the project. He explained that once he learned of Soken’s admiration, the collaboration moved quickly. The goal was to create something “authentic and competitive”—a sound that matches the intensity of the game’s raid encounters. This resulted in “Everything Burns,” a track designed to inject pure adrenaline into the player experience.

Release Dates and Schedule

Players won’t have to wait long to hear the track in-game. The Normal difficulty of The Arcadion: Heavyweight Tier will launch alongside Patch 7.4 on December 16, 2025.
