Update:

The world of soccer video games is about to undergo a drastic change of pace. After years of hyper-realistic simulators dominating the market, at MWC 2026—specifically at the Lenovo booth—we had the opportunity to learn about FIFA Heroes, a game developed by Enver Studio, that prioritizes immediate fun, visual spectacle, and accessibility. Developed by a team of veterans from companies such as EA Sports and Konami, this title does not seek to replicate a regulation 90-minute match, but rather to condense the experience into two-minute bursts of 5-on-5 action.

What makes FIFA Heroes different from a traditional simulator?

Unlike classic simulators, FIFA Heroes is explicitly defined as an arcade experience. Realistic physics take a back seat to a system of special skills that radically alter the dynamics of the game. Players can perform teleports in the middle of a dribble, power shots wrapped in flames, or magnetic tackles to regain possession. The design focuses on short sessions, but with room for technical expression and the optimization of competitive builds.

The business model will be free-to-play: free download, progression earned by playing, and monetization focused on cosmetic items and season passes, avoiding—according to its creators—any impact on competitive balance.

Who are the protagonists of this new experience?

One of the most striking features of FIFA Heroes is its eclectic cast of characters. The game not only features official licenses for current stars who will be playing in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, such as Jude Bellingham, Harry Kane, and “Dibu” Martínez, but also includes historical legends such as Diego Armando Maradona.

However, the real surprise is the inclusion of cultural and mythological icons. Players will be able to assemble teams where elite soccer players coexist with characters such as:

  • Thor: The god of thunder brings his legendary strength to the field.
  • Sun Wukong: The Monkey King stands out for his superhuman agility.
  • Official mascots: The characters representing the 2026 World Cup in the US, Mexico, and Canada will also be selectable.

When and on which platforms will we be able to play it?

The launch is scheduled for April 13, 2026, on iOS and Android. It will later arrive on PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox. The title will feature cross-platform and cross-play, allowing games between users regardless of the system used.

In addition, thanks to a strategic alliance with Motorola, the game will come pre-installed on select devices and offer specific optimization for the Motorola Razr fold. On this foldable device, players will have an expanded view of the field and controls adapted to its 8.1-inch screen, which could translate into a significant tactical and visual advantage. With this proposal, FIFA Heroes does not compete directly with traditional simulators: it redefines the pace and language of digital soccer toward a clearly arcade-oriented and immediate experience.
