Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis announced for PC: first details
Square Enix’s free-to-play game, Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis, has just begun its development of a PC version which will include cross-progression between Steam and mobile.
Another remake of Squaresoft’s quintessential RPG classic can be downloaded on iOS and Android mobile devices, but it will also be available on PC, eventually. Square Enix has announced that it has begun development of the PC version of Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis, which will be available on Steam soon. However, they have not yet announced a release date for it.
The studio has reported that they will implement cross-progression with the mobile versions, but they have not provided specific data on how that will work either. Nothing has been said yet about a hypothetical console version.
Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis follows the story of the classic game and incorporates new stories. It allows us to play as a young Sephirot and join forces with the mythical characters of the seventh installment. Unlike the remake, this video game opts for a retro art style, but combines it with a more contemporary look. It is available under a free-to-play model, which means that the download is free, although it includes microtransactions.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the second episode of the remake project
Almost four years have passed since the release of Final Fantasy VII Remake, the first installment of a trilogy that reimagines the story and gameplay of the original. The next chapter is already on the horizon and MeriStation got a chance to try it out. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth continues the plot right from the moment where Cloud and party leave Midgar, going out to the outside world. That is why this video game is more open than the previous one, with large locations that we can explore freely.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be released next February 29 as a timed exclusive for PS5. The agreement between Square Enix and Sony Interactive Entertainment establishes that the exclusivity period is at least three months, which does not imply that on May 29 it will be made available on other platforms.
