Final Fantasy VII Rebirth State of Play: when and at what time does it start, what to expect

Are things going to stay the same from the original or will we see many changes come with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth? Here’s what to expect from its State of Play deep dive.

We just got a State of Play, and yet here’s another one. While the first one was packed with games, announcements, and release dates, the one we are dealing with today will focus solely and exclusively on Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. It is one of the most anticipated releases of 2024 and is just around the corner (launching on February 29) so Square Enix and Sony want to get fans as excited as possible.

The event will be as long as the previous State of Play for games like Final Fantasy 16 and Ghost of Tsushima did, that is to say, about 20 minutes, and the big surprise is expected to be the announcement of a demo of the game at the end of it.

When is the State of Play for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

The Final Fantasy VII Rebirth State of Play will take place on Tuesday, February 6 at 3:30 pm PT. As mentioned above, the show will have a duration of around 20 minutes, and it’s expected to be a deep dive into the story, gameplay, and main features of the upcoming RPG from Square Enix.

So far, we know that the developers have chosen to create this sequel as a massive open world, and from earlier previews, we’ve seen a little of how this works with the combat mechanics of Final Fantasy 7.
