Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will include Vincent, but he won’t be playable

Just like Red XIII in Remake, Vincent Valentine will be present during Final Fantasy VII Rebirth only as a guest of the party.

Vincent Valentine was an optional character in the classic title, as was Yuffie. In Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the gunslinger vampire will rise again from the grave, as could be seen in the recent State of Play trailer. Interviewed by Game Informer, Tetsuya Nomura – character designer and supervisor of the Remake project – has confirmed that Vincent will join the group as part of the game’s main story, but this time he will not be playable.

However, he will accompany the heroes like Red XIII did in Final Fantasy VII Remake. Nomura himself has said that in the original title, Vincent was part of the team at the end of the story, so everything seems to indicate that we will not be able to control him until the third installment, which will close the trilogy.

This time, Red XIII is a full-fledged member of the team.

Red XIII is one of the characters that we will use in battle. In fact, we got a good idea of its abilities, since we had the opportunity to try the game during a preview session. He has an assortment of fast and effective blows, as well as a combat style called Revenge, which is fueled by the attacks it receives.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be available on February 29 as a temporary PS5 exclusive (at least three months). Square Enix has confirmed that the game will come with full English, French, German, and Japanese audio.

Like the Remake, Rebirth reimagines the original title and expands the main story, while deepening everything related to the characters.
