First ‘Star Wars: Skeleton Crew’ images reveal a ‘The Mandalorian’ spin-off in the style of ‘E.T.’
Jude Law stars as the guide of a group of lost kids in ‘Star Wars: Skeleton Crew’, which seems to be an 80′s style adventure set in the Galaxy Far, Far Away.
We’ve heard that it was a kind of ‘Stranger Things’ in the ‘Star Wars’ universe, a series in the style of those eighties films like ‘E.T.’ or ‘The Goonies’, with a group of children living fascinating adventures as the main stars. ‘Skeleton Crew’, the new spin-off of ‘The Mandalorian’, takes those references and launches them to the galaxy far, far away. There are no bicycles, but there are speeders, kids, and adventures. Through the official account of the series, it has been confirmed that the series will premiere on December 3 on Disney+. In addition, we finally have our first look through official images.
‘Skeleton Crew’ stars Jude Law, who plays a former Jedi master turned professor. When something unforeseen happens on the children’s home planet, they all embark on a series of adventures through space. Like ‘The Mandalorian’, ‘The Book of Boba Fett’ and ‘Ahsoka’, the new Lucasfilm production created by Jon Watts (the director of the Spider-Man films) is set a few years after ‘Return of the Jedi’, a time in which the remains of the Galactic Empire still cause problems for the New Republic.
According to Watts himself in an interview with the Dagobah Dispatch podcast, the choice of different directors for the episodes will allow variety to the product, which will explore different genres. On the other hand, Jon Favreau, head of ‘The Mandalorian’, participates in the series as a producer. Later, Dave Filoni will shape a film in which the stories of all these characters will come together in an ‘Avengers’ style event.
After ‘Skeleton Crew’, which will have a first season of 6 episodes, ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’ will be the next production, with filming about to begin. It will not be released, however, until May 2026.
