Floating cities and an abyss full of monsters: ‘Gachiakuta’ is one of the most anticipated anime of 2025 and has a release date
‘Gachiakuta’ is an adaptation of the manga of the same name by Kei Urana and will be available for streaming this summer.

Everything seems to indicate that 2025 will be a year full of joys for anime lovers, because if 2024 brought us surprises like ‘DanDaDan’ or ‘Solo Leveling’, 2025 has already brought us ‘Sakamoto Days’ and, a few days ago, the release date of ‘Kimetsu no Yaiba. Infinite Castle’, and now we have another name to add to the list: ‘Gachiakuta’, one of the most anticipated anime of 2025, coming to Crunchyroll next July.
‘Gachiakuta’ is a new anime that will adapt the manga of the same name by Kei Urana, which has been published since 2022 (it currently has 14 volumes). The story is set in a world where cities float in the sky, while the earth’s surface is an infinite landfill, where garbage and pollution have led to a proliferation of wild monsters.
The main character, Rudo, survives in the city’s underworld when he is suddenly accused of a murder he did not commit. The punishment? Nothing less than exile to the edge of the abyss. With the sole mission of proving his innocence and getting his life back on track, the young man decides to join a brigade called the Cleaners, who try to clean up the garbage dump by fighting the monsters that inhabit it.
‘Gachiakuta’ will air simultaneously on Crunchyroll in Japan during the summer 2025 season, more specific, July 2025.
