Fortnite is getting new ‘Dragon Ball’ and ‘X-Men’ outfits

Androids 17 and 18 from ´Dragon Ball Super´ and the X-Men´s Cyclops, Jubilee, and Colossus are coming to Fortnite as brand new outfits for the popular Epic Games battle royale.

The Fortnite collaborations simply will not stop. This time, the game is getting new Outfits of ‘Dragon Ball Super’ and Marvel’s ‘X-Men’. Specifically, Androids 17 and 18, as well as Cyclops, Jubilee, and Colossus have all been added to the game through patch 30.40 on Tuesday, August 6, 2024.

New Outfits from ‘Dragon Ball Super’ and Marvel’s ‘X-Men’ arrive in Fortnite with their latest patch

As usual, with each patch that is released for the title new content is also added to the game, and users have been able to datamine two images that reveal upcoming collaborations set to arrive to Fortnite pretty soon.

On the one hand, we have Androids 17 and 18 from ‘Dragon Ball Super’, and on the other Jubilee, Cyclops, and Colossus from the ‘X-Men’. These Outfits are sure to arrive very soon in the in-game item store. At this time we do not know their specific price in V-Bucks (Fortnite’s virtual currency) or all the accessories they come with.

What do these two new collaborations imply for Fortnite and its narrative?

The collaboration with ‘Dragon Ball Super’ is the one that seems somewhat more “arbitrary” of the two, since this season does not have any element of the work of Akira Toriyama. Of course, they are not the only Outfits of this franchise present in the game; Goku, Vegeta, Bulma, and Beerus were the first to arrive, followed by Gohan and Piccolo, Goku Black, and Frieza and Cell.

Besides, the one collab that seems most relevant to the game’s overarching storyline is the ‘X-Men’. Magneto was the secret character of the current season, and according to the roadmap for 2024, the next season (Chapter 5 Season 4) will have a Marvel theme with Doctor Doom as the main central villain.

In other words: the arrival of these ‘X-Men’ Outfits to the game with just a few days left before the end of the current season and the start of the next may be an indirect confirmation of the Marvel theme of the next season which starts August 16.
