Fortnite prepares for its season finale event: date, times and how to watch it live

Fortnite announces a big event within the game itself, which is part of its narrative and which we will be able to witness in rigorous live.

The Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 will have a final event that will take place next Saturday, August 10, within the game itself. In this news, we gather all the relevant information, including the date and time, how to watch it live, and what to expect from this event:

When will the next Fortnite event take place?

Following the arrival of Fortnite patch 30.40 on Tuesday, August 6, a very ominous countdown appeared in Brutal Beachhead, one of this season’s new locations, marking a cutoff date and time: Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 2:00 PM ET.

How can I watch the next Fortnite in-game event?

In order to witness this Fortnite in-game event for ourselves, we need to be logged into the game at the specific date and time, depending on the time zone, and then enter a Battle Royale or Zero Build game. After that, we need to go to the Brutal Beachhead location where the event will take place:

What will happen in the event? What is the story of this season of Fortnite?

At the beginning of Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3, Megalo Don and his gang took over the southern part of the island in order to steal Nitro, a precious resource that serves as fuel, which Megalo Don has been pumping into Brutal Beachhead through various pipes in the desert area. The event’s countdown marks the moment when the giant ship’s tank will be filled.

In addition, during this season’s story quests, we stole Pandora’s Gems for Hope, who has been receiving visions from the Oracle. From various files added in the 30.40 patch of the game, we know that Pandora’s Box will appear again during the event, and there will be explosions along the Nitro pipeline, perhaps paving the way for next season’s Marvel-themed season, with Doctor Doom as the big main villain.

That said, keep in mind that this event will not be on the scale of end-of-chapter events like last year’s Eminem concert, but will be something “smaller” for a main reason explained by Donald Mustard - Epic’s former creative director - at the time: With the introduction of the new Rocket Racing, LEGO Fortnite, and Fortnite Festival modes, a large portion of the Epic Games staff dedicated to Fortnite’s live events has been reassigned to those modes, which is the main reason why there are hardly any big events in the game like there used to be.
