From Callum Turner to Aaron Taylor-Johnson: all the candidates for the new James Bond
The iconic character could go to any of these actors.

Five years after Daniel Craig bid farewell to the iconic role of James Bond, production on the 26th installment of the secret agent franchise is getting underway with Dune director Denis Villeneuve and Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight at the helm. All that remains is the big announcement of who will mark a new era for Ian Fleming’s legendary character, and the anticipation continues to grow.
Every few weeks, a new name pops up as the successor to the franchise, and after speculation about Idris Elba, Tom Holland, and Tom Hardy, it’s now the turn of 35-year-old British actor Callum Turner, star of the series ‘Masters of the Air’ and the romantic comedy ‘Eternity.’ According to The Times, Dua Lipa’s fiancé has already told his closest circle that the role is his and that Lipa will write the next theme song. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but Turner has positioned himself as one of the most prominent performers among the pool of candidates.

The candidates to become the new James Bond
Aaron Taylor-Johnson remains one of Turner’s strongest contenders. After his role as Count Vronsky in the 2012 adaptation of Anna Karenina catapulted his career, the actor has cultivated a solid career in Hollywood thanks to his participation in the thriller Nocturnal Animals, for which he received a Golden Globe, the action comedy Bullet Train, and the horror film Nosferatu.
Other contenders include Richard Madden, star of ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘The Bodyguard,’ who demonstrated his mastery of the genre in the spy series ‘Citadel;’ Theo James, from series such as ‘Fuze’ and ‘The White Lotus;’ and Luke Evans, who played Gaston in the remake of ‘Beauty and the Beast.’ Another actor who has been gaining ground is Josh O’Connor, who recently starred alongside Daniel Craig in the latest installment of ‘Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.’
