From Kevin Durant to Carmelo Anthony: EA Sports’ most legendary NCAA Basketball covers of the 21st century
The return of college talent to the virtual world.

After a long lethargy, College Basketball will return to video games. Yesterday, EA Sports revealed the return of the NCAA March Madness / NCAA Basketball franchise after almost 16 years since its last installment, now under the tentative name EA Sports College Basketball. This one comes as no surprise to many. Last year, EA Sports College Football had an excellent reception, and it was logical to think that Electronic Arts would want to repeat the formula with another of its college franchises. Who knows, maybe this is the push NBA Live needs to get back on track, something many basketball game fans have been waiting for.
And looking to the past, we are left seeing that like other sports titles, the NCAA Basketball franchise had an impressive list of cover athletes, some of them making the professional leap to the NBA, becoming references. From a Tim Duncan, to a Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, Kevin Love and many other players who managed to consecrate themselves within the NBA.

Throughout 13 titles in the franchise, we can not only see a whole generation of basketball stars, but also the evolution of EA Sports’ sports brand, with changes in logos, numbers, and so on.

This return is great news for basketball and video game fans. Did you get to play any of these titles? Let us know in the comments.
