FromSoftware just updated Elden Ring on Steam in preparation for the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC
A new backend update on Steam seems to point towards FromSoftware getting ready to release Elden Ring’s DLC/Expansion sooner than we expect.
We were just talking last week about how hungry we were for news about Elden Ring and its expansion/DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, and now there is a light at the end of the tunnel for fans. On Monday, January 15, 2024, FromSoftware made an update on the Steam platform’s backend that adds a new ID number for something bluntly titled ‘DLC’.
Specifically, this update is not something that was added to the actual ‘Elden Ring’ game: it is the creation of a file depot for the Elden Ring Steam backend, which is sort of reserving a space on said platform for something to be uploaded in the future. This has given been given its own Steam ID number, and was labeled simply as ‘DLC’, with no other descriptors added. It is not much, and might not really be that exciting for anyone who doesn’t care about the inner workings of Steam, but what it means is that Shadow of the Erdtree might be about to get an official store page.
Still no news on what to expect in Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree
This past week FromSoftware announced the first update of the year for the game, which focuses strictly on upgrading the title’s anti-cheat system. But apart from this, there’s nothing lse in this patch, which means that fans are once again left waiting on news about the upcoming DLC/expansion for Elden Ring.
So far we only have a mysterious piece of concept art showing who might be Miquella riding Torrent, our trusty Spectral Steed in the game. While this has led to many theories, the only things that is certain is that the developers are still working on the DLC, and that it’ll launch when its ready.
