‘Furiosa’: the Mad Max: Fury Road prequel unveils a first look at Anya Taylor-Joy in the lead role

The long awaited Mad Max spin-off, Furiosa, is coming to theaters in 2024, and we’ve just got our first look at Anya Taylor-Joy as the hero.

‘Furiosa’, the long-awaited prequel to ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’, which will feature Anya Taylor-Joy in the role of the character played by Charlize Theron in the 2015 film, is coming to theaters next year. ‘Furiosa’s origins will expand the ‘Mad Max’ universe, and we now have the first official look at the heroine thanks to the film’s stand at the CCXP (Comic Con Experience) which is being held in Brazil and will feature world-class artists and directors.

The reveal is actually promotional art of a golden Furiosa. The film’s director, George Miller, highlighted that “When we wrote Mad Max, the task was to tell a story that was always on the run and to see how much the audience could pick up in passing. That was one of the tricks of Mad Max: Fury Road, that there would be references to things of where she’s from, why they’re doing things, but it was always on the run. There were very few moments of quiet.” An intense and non-stop story, in which there were many unknowns to be resolved and all of which will hopefully be revealed in ‘Furiosa’.

The universe of ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ goes further with ‘Furiosa’

When is the story of ‘Furiosa’ set? The prequel to ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ is set many years before this one, with even the villain of Fury Road Immortan Joe appearing in the film and Chris Hemsworth playing a character named Dementus.

What is ‘Furiosa’ about? The synopsis of the film highlights that “As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.”
