'Game of Thrones' movie is real: Warner Bros. working to bring 'A Song of Ice and Fire' to theaters
It is leaked that the production company is already in the first stage of development of the first movie based on the works of George R.R. Martin.
It looks like Warner Bros. has big plans for ‘Game of Thrones’. The Hollywood Reporter has reported that the production company is already working on a movie based on ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’. Their sources claim that development is in the very early stages. They are still looking for a concept to move forward with. They do not have a director, screenwriters or producers. For now, this project is still in the works with no concrete release date.
The news will not come as a surprise to fans of the brand. Already during the filming of the series, its showrunners, Dan Weiss and David Benioff, proposed to Warner to capture the end of the series with a trilogy in theaters. In the end, they rejected the proposal to continue with the traditional model that resulted in the infamous eighth season (except for a few).
Westeros is still alive on the small screen: what’s next for Game of Thrones?
The year 2024 was relevant for fans of the saga. HBO premiered the second season of “House of the Dragon,” which cemented the success of the Targaryen story, even as critics lambasted the last episodes for the lack of vigor in some arcs. We can only wait for the total warfare next season.
What 2025 holds is another series about one of the stories Martin drew in parallel. It is ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms,’ the wanderings of Dunk and Egg through a Westeros more hostile than the troubadour songs tell. It still has no concrete release date in Max.
