‘Game of Thrones’: these are the biggest killers in Westeros and the total death count of each season

Throughout eight seasons of ‘Game of Thrones’, thousands of people perished and some got hundreds of kills under their belts.

Living in Westeros has its risks. Maybe at the time of ‘Game of Thrones’ there were not as many dragons as during the Targaryen civil war, but the population of the Seven Kingdoms was still significantly reduced. It is true that it is impossible to count all those who died, but The Washington Post analyzed the eight seasons of the show scene by scene and counted the number of deaths that took place during the series. Through a series of illustrations, this media outlet determined that the number of deaths was 6,887 people.

The list of the biggest killers in the series (and also probably serial killers) is headed by the dragon Drogon, who killed 1,426 characters. Following closely behind is Arya Stark, author of the massacre of 1,278 individuals. Another of Princess Daenerys Targaryen’s reptiles, Rhaegal, killed 273 unfortunate people. Cersei Lannister may not have been a skilled warrior with a sword, but she also left a trail of corpses: 199. And Jon Snow was not innocent either, there were 112 lives taken by him in total. On the other hand, the most dangerous places in Westeros are these: Winterfell (3,709), King’s Landing (1,357), Beyond the Wall (1,092), Meeren (154), and the Golden Path (116).

The dead in ‘Game of Thrones’ season by season

The body count kept growing from season to season. In the first ones, the number exceeded one hundred, but in the end, especially in the last season, things ended up getting completely out of hand.

  • Season 1: 59 deaths
  • Season 2: 130 deaths
  • Season 3: 87 deaths
  • Season 4: 181 deaths
  • Season 5: 246 deaths
  • Season 6: 540 deaths
  • Season 7: 1,096 deaths
  • Season 8: 4,548 deaths

The eight seasons of ‘Game of Thrones’ are available in Max. After the end of the second season of ‘House of the Dragon’, the series has been renewed and will continue for a third season, which will take some time to arrive. Next year will arrive ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’, a new spin-off of ‘Game of Thrones’.
