gamescom latam 2025: Meet the inaugural winners of the BIG Festival, including Nine Sols, which was named Game of the Year
This great celebration of video games in Latin America recognizes innovation and independent talent in an emotional ceremony.
As part of its BIG Festival, gamescom latam announced the first winners in the Anhembi District. Sixteen awards were presented to recognize creativity and innovation in the global gaming industry.
The Game of the Year award went to Nine Sols, a 2D action-platformer that stands out for its hand-drawn visuals and rich narrative. Developed by Red Candle Games and published by Focus Entertainment, Nine Sols draws inspiration from the challenging combat of Sekiro, with a particular focus on its evasive mechanics.
The ceremony also celebrated Latin American talent. The award for Best Game went to Grizzly Man, from LCB Game Studio. Latin America went to Grizzly Man from LCB Game Studio. The award for Best Game went to: Brazil went to Mullet MadJack, developed by Hammer 95 Studios and published by Epopeia Games.

- Best Mobile Game: Levil Devil - Unept, LLC.
- Best Multiplayer Game: Bang Bang Barrage - Monkey Bread
One of the most emotional moments of the evening was the tribute to Shuhei Yoshida. The legendary industry figure and former head of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s indie division received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his impact on global video game development and for his work with the PlayStation Indies program.
gamescom latam continues until Sunday, June 4, in the Anhembi district. The event features a diverse program of exhibitions, developer talks, competitions, and attractions for gaming enthusiasts of all kinds. The second part of the BIG Festival awards will take place on the same Sunday, with more announcements and awards to be revealed.
