Update:

The future of Tyrion Lannister in ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ does not look too promising. The character survived the end of ‘Game of Thrones,’ but that doesn’t mean he will in the novels. For now, The Winds of Winter remains in limbo with no publication date. Meanwhile, George R.R. Martin has spoken in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter about the possible death of characters who ended up alive in the series.

Martin is clear about this: “I was going to kill more people,” he revealed. “Not the ones they killed [in the show]. They made it more of a happy ending. I don’t see a happy ending for Tyrion. His whole arc has been tragic from the first. I was going to have Sansa die, but she’s been so appealing in the show, maybe I’ll let her live…”

Arya Stark, back in a new series?

Little is known about the future sequels to ‘Game of Thrones,’ but George R.R. Martin himself revealed some time ago that HBO is developing several projects. With the Jon Snow spin-off canceled, attention is turning to another protagonist, Arya Stark. According to sources at The Hollywood Reporter, the series is in the early stages of development, so no one has been cast yet.
