George R.R. Martin teases his work on an Elden Ring live-action series
The author behind Game of Thrones has spoken up about rumors of an Elden Ring movie, with hints (or jokes) about his involvement making fans suspicious.
Now what Elden Ring is once again on everyone’s lips - as if it ever stopped - thanks to its expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, rumors of an adaptation of FromSoftware’s masterpiece to other formats have started popping up. Hidetaka Miyazaki, who already confessed that he was open to the possibility as long as they found the right partner - since according to him, at FromSoftware they make games, not movies - fueled these rumors, to which today the author of ‘Game of Thrones’, George R. R. Martin, basically just threw gasoline into the fire.
The writer, who is currently immersed in writing ‘The Winds of Winter’, the sixth book in the ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ saga, has written a post on his blog on the occasion of his nomination - for Elden Ring - for a Nebula Award, awards given in the United States and dedicated to science fiction and fantasy literature. Unexpectedly, Martin has mentioned these rumors without anyone asking him at all, with which fans have begun to get excited, perhaps with reason.
“Oh, and about those rumors you may have heard about a feature film or television series based on ELDEN RING… I have nothing to say,” he wrote. “Not a word, nope, not a thing, I know nothing, you never heard a peep from me, mum mum mum. What rumor?”
From Software triumphs again with Shadow of the Erdtree
Meanwhile, Elden Ring players continue to enjoy its gigantic expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, although those on PC are a little less happy about its performance. On the other hand, there are another good handful of them that ask for a GOTY nomination despite it being a DLC.
Shadow of the Erdtree is now available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and PC.
