Ghost of Yotei has a release date: The sequel to Ghost of Tsushima arrives in October with a new protagonist and more freedom
Sucker Punch is releasing the long-awaited sequel to Ghost of Tsushima this fall.
PlayStation surprised everyone this morning by officially announcing Ghost of Yotei, the direct sequel to Ghost of Tsushima. The new title from Sucker Punch will be released on October 2, 2025, and along with the news, the studio released a spectacular trailer that gives a first glimpse of what awaits us in this new adventure.
More freedom and variety in an evolving open world
According to the developers, Ghost of Yotei will take the open-world experience to a new level, with more freedom to explore and various missions and paths to suit each player’s style. This time, the main objective will be to eliminate the six members of Yotei, and the best part is that you’ll be able to face them in the order you prefer. In addition to the main story, the world will be full of “other dangerous objectives” and bounty hunter contracts for those looking for more intense challenges.
New mechanics will also be introduced, such as the ability to build camps anywhere on the map. These campfires will serve as resting points and offer benefits that are yet to be revealed but promise to add a strategic layer to the game.
The story revolves around Atsu, a young ronin marked by tragedy. After losing her family, her life is reduced to a single mission: to avenge their deaths. Trained in the art of combat and survival, Atsu is deadly and determined and wears the dreaded Fang Mask, the last face her enemies will see before they die.
