God of War Ragnarok reveals its PC system requirements ahead of release
With only a little more than a month before its release, PlayStation has shared the official PC system requirements for God of War Ragnarok’s PC port.
The God of War Ragnarok PC system requirements have finally been revealed by PlayStation, and breaking all expectations it appears as though you won’t need to have an incredible powerful machine to enjoy it to the fullest capacity.
As revealed through the Official PlayStation Blog, Ragnarok will only require players to have an NVIDIA GTX 1060 or an AMD RX 5500XT to be able to run the game at 1080p 30 FPS, all on low settings. However, as you keep climbing up on graphical quality tiers, it seems like even the highest resolution available for the game (without accounting for ultrawide ratios) will demand a decently affordable tier of GPUs, as Ultra 4K 60FPS settings only call for an RTX 4070 TI or an RX 7900 XT.

God of War Ragnarok’s PC version will include new graphical features
Kratos’ Norse epic will finally arrive on PCs on September 19, 2024, two years after the original launch, but it will come loaded with a good number of technical innovations (compatibility with Nvidia DLSS 3.7, with ultra-wide monitors and AMD FSR 3.1, etc.). You can see all the details in its presentation trailer.
All of this seems to be part of Sony’s new strategy regarding PC versions of PlayStation 5 console exclusives, which seem to have been massively shaken by Helldivers 2′s initial success. As such, they’ve promised a prolonged focus for “games as a service” titles, which will release on the same day on both platforms, while single-player blockbuster experiences will only come to PC years after their original release on console to encourage sales for upcoming sequels.
What all of this means for God of War Ragnarok isn’t exactly clear, but for now, we’ll be able to enjoy it on PC once it releases on September 19, 2024.
