Goodbye to the Joker: the most sought-after costumes for Halloween in 2025 feature ‘KPop Demon Hunters’

For years, the most popular Halloween costumes have featured Batman’s nemesis. Men dressed as the Joker, while women opted for Harley Quinn’s outfit and makeup. However, something has changed in 2025, as Netflix’s phenomenon of the year, KPop Demon Hunters, has won the hearts of millions of viewers around the world, who now want to dress up as its protagonists.

Google shows the most searched costumes in the weeks leading up to this holiday, and this year’s animated film is the absolute star, taking the top five spots.

KPop Demon Hunters conquers Netflix and breaks records

KPop Demon Hunters boasts of being nothing less than the most-watched movie in Netflix history, having surpassed Red Notice shortly after its release, a film that featured stars such as Ryan Reynolds, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and Gal Gadot. Such has been its success that in a few days it will be released in theaters in a sing-along version—with subtitles in the songs so that the audience can sing along—from October 31 to November 2.

Unsurprisingly, its creators are already working on a sequel, which could actually be a prequel, as it would deal with the origins of the HUNTR/X group. In fact, Sony and Netflix are already producing a short film based on the movie, although they have completely ruled out a live-action adaptation.
