Google pays homage to ‘Where’s Waldo?’ with a free game full of pop-culture characters
Take a look and try to find Spider-Man, Naruto, Pikachu, and many characters more in this new ‘Where’s Waldo?’ tribute game by Google.
Those of us who were born between the 80s and 90s surely enjoyed the adventures of ‘Where Waldo?’, a series of very popular books in which we had to find the charismatic and elusive Waldo in the middle of huge thematic drawings packed with people, becoming a phenomenon at least in the West. Google wanted to pay tribute to such a famous brand with its own Doodle, an entirely free minigame for your browser in which you get to search for a good handful of characters from pop culture, among them, Spider-Man, Naruto, Pikachu, and many more.
An interactive tribute to popular culture
To celebrate that 2023 is coming to an end, Google has shared a new free browser game that follows the style of the Waldo books, although this time in interactive format. Of course, instead of searching for a specific character, Google encourages us to find the 25 most searched things of the year through their search engine; and among them are some of the most recognized characters in popular culture.
Among the most sought-after characters of the year we find examples such as those of Spider-Man among the superheroes, Naruto in anime, Pikachu among the most wanted Pokémon, Cristiano Ronaldo among the most famous athletes, and of course, Taylor Swift among the most searched musical artists. There is even room for more imaginative concepts such as Leo, the most searched zodiac sign in 2023.
All of them well hidden and camouflaged - some more than others, to tell the truth - among a multitude of characters, objects, and other elements that have nothing to do with them and that make a very fun, enjoyable, and surprisingly difficult task.
Don’t hesitate to participate in this fun Doodle through this link.
