Goosebumps with the new trailer for Resident Evil Requiem: Leon Kennedy’s last dance confirmed
Capcom has once again demonstrated why this installment is described as “the most ambitious chapter in the series” at The Game Awards.

The trailer for Resident Evil Requiem goes straight to revealing the mystery behind the sofa with the big ears: it’s the game’s antagonist. The man with the mechanical glasses will look Rose in the eye for the first time. Grace hears what he says loud and clear, a key moment in the game’s development: Victor Guideon makes his debut. And of course, Leon is in on the action as a playable character. He will be the character who brings “explosive action to the game,” while Grace will star in the survival horror part.
All the reasons to return to Raccoon City
Requiem is not just another Resident Evil game, but the end of an era. Announced by Capcom itself as “the most ambitious chapter in the series,” the game invites us to return to Raccoon City 26 years later. Or at least to the wasteland it became after the nuclear bombing that ended Resident Evil 3. A place where terrifying memories await us and a narrative more twisted than a strangled neck. Conspiracies, macabre science, and a protagonist who is not alone.
Because yes, Leon S. Kennedy is back. Older and more tired, but just as lethal and stylish. What’s more, he won’t be alone, but accompanied by Grace Ashcroft, a new FBI agent whose family tree dates back to Resident Evil: Outbreak. The two will form a legendary duo, offering two perspectives on the same nightmare. Two styles of play whose narratives intertwine to bring to life what aspires to be the best survival horror game of 2026 (and perhaps also Leon’s farewell?).
What is certain is that, technically speaking, Capcom has pulled a new ace out of its sleeve. It has built a monster. First, by allowing players to switch between first- and third-person view right from launch (an option that arrived in Village via patch months after its release). The first is for those looking to maximize the horror. The third person view is for those looking for something more classic. The ever-impressive RE Engine has been pushed to its limits and will feature sickening details and a version for Nintendo Switch 2 that impresses anyone who tries it.
A host of reasons make it clear that Requiem is not just a game, it’s a last dance. One that demands you mark a date in red on your calendar: February 27, 2026, when the title launches on PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
