Grand Slam tennis player Nick Kyrgios gets 10 Pokémon tattooed on his back

Nick Kyrgios is used to leaving no one indifferent. This time, however, he has gone even further, tattooing a collage of Pokémon characters all over his back.

Gotta Tattoo ‘em all

On Tuesday, Kyrgios shared photos from Los Angeles of a five-person crew inking a full back tattoo of some of his favorite Pokémon. Gyarados, Blastoise, Dragonite, Mewtwo, Snorlax, Gengar, and Charizard are just some of the characters that the tattoo-loving player had his entire back covered with a design by Australia tattoo artist Alexi Bouras.

The engraving process took an hour, according to the athlete through his social media, where he shared images of the result. In them, you can see a drawing practically in black and white, so maybe the Australian will continue to perfect it in other sessions to color it.

Kyrgios and his love for Pokémon

This is not the first time that Kyrgios has confessed his madness with the pocket monsters. After suffering a very tough loss to Denis Shapovalov at the Toronto Masters 1000 in 2016, he blamed the game itself: “Just quietly, how good is Pokemon Go. Honestly been playing that more than tennis,” the Australian admitted on Twitter at the time.

Also, last year he showed his love for Pokémon Unite, asking for anyone who also plays the MOBA style Pokémon game.

Earlier this year, Kyrgios donated a pair of custom Pokémon sneakers featuring Squirtle (the unevolved version of Blastoise) and his own name in the yellow and blue Pokémon font.
