Update:

November 19 is a date circled in red for the video game industry and for millions of players around the world. That day is scheduled for the release of Grand Theft Auto VI, a title that can already be considered the most anticipated in the medium’s history, generating unprecedented hype—even within its own franchise.

The return to Vice City is shaping up to be historic, with a project that aims to redefine open-world standards and become a benchmark that will be difficult to match. Now, just a few months ahead of release, Rockstar has taken what many see as the first real step toward the final stretch.

A job posting that points directly to GTA 6

The company has launched a recruitment campaign for game testers, something common in the final stages of development, but especially noteworthy given the timing. The information comes from a post on LinkedIn, signed by Priyanka Mourya, a talent acquisition specialist at Rockstar Games. “If you have a passion for gaming, this may be the ideal position for you,” Mourya notes, inviting interested candidates to take part in an in-person recruitment event. According to the post, the event will take place on April 18, 2026, at Rockstar’s office in Bangalore.

The application form states that selected candidates will work on “some of the most rewarding, large-scale creative projects to be found in any entertainment medium,” a description that aligns directly with what Grand Theft Auto VI represents within the studio’s portfolio.

This move reinforces the idea that development is progressing as planned and that, barring a major surprise, the game should not face further delays. GTA 6 is getting closer than ever—although those hoping for a chance to try it early will need to meet one key condition: relocating to India, as the offer is limited to that country.
