The next big Fortnite event is less than two weeks away, and the game’s data mining community is buzzing. One of the latest leaks claims that a new music game mode, reminiscent of Guitar Hero and Rock Band, is coming soon. Below, we tell you all that is known about it:
Here’s everything we know about Fortnite’s new music game mode
Fortnite is getting a new music game mode called Festival, according to the popular and reliable dataminer HYPEX. Here’s everything that’s going to be in this new game mode, which is very reminiscent of Guitar Hero and Rock Band for its mechanics:
- The game mode is called Festival and there are collaborations in it.
- There are two separate playlists: one casual and one competitive.
- The band instruments/positions we can play are vocalist, guitar, drums, bass and more.
- We will be able to play solo, in duos, in trios, and in squads of four.
- It will be possible to get free rewards by playing this game mode.
- This game mode will be available on December 9, 2023.
- So far the following artists and songs are confirmed: Pokerface by Lady Gaga, Numb by Linkin Park, Africa by Toto, Thunder by Imagine Dragons, Poison by Alice Cooper and Fortnite music packs.
All this would fit with the reason why Epic Games bought Harmonix in 2021. According to the company at the time, the intention with which they acquired the development studio of the Guitar Hero and Rock Band sagas was to “create musical experiences for Fortnite,” and these musical experiences will finally bear fruit almost a year and a half after the acquisition.
On the other hand, thanks to Fortnite’s 27.11 patch files, we know that we will see a preview version of this new music game mode during the final Big Bang event on December 2, 2023. For now, we can only wait to enjoy this new content in Fortnite; we have never seen anything like it in the game, and the truth is that it looks promising.
