Update:

With a focus on eyewear that lessens eye strain during prolonged use, GUNNAR Optiks has long positioned itself in gaming and professional screen-based environments. The Novato, a new model in the company’s Titanium Collection, will go on sale on April 8, 2026. With sharper lines and a more geometric profile, the frames reinterpret the classic aviator style for users who spend a lot of time in front of digital screens or, occasionally, in aviation environments.

A key aspect of the Novato is its construction. The frames are made of lightweight titanium and are intended to be corrosion-resistant and hypoallergenic, making them appropriate for daily use. In order to enhance fit and long-term comfort, the design also includes adjustable nose pads and spring hinges. The emphasis here seems to be on reducing pressure points and preserving stability during prolonged sessions, whether for gaming, work, or travel, rather than just visual impact.

Engineered for screen-focused use

The Novato has GUNNAR’s exclusive lens technology and G-Shield Premium Plus coating in addition to its frame design. The company claims that this combination is meant to block UV rays and lessen exposure to blue light. The objective is to reduce eye strain and preserve visual clarity when using screens for extended periods of time, especially when prolonged focus is needed.

Aviation professionals are also drawn to the Novato. GUNNAR has stated that its sunglass lenses are non-polarized and FAA-approved. By preventing the disturbances frequently brought on by polarized lenses, this specific feature guarantees that cockpit instruments and digital displays remain easily readable.
