Halo: Campaign Evolved announced, the original campaign will bring Master Chief to new consoles
The original adventure returns with Unreal Engine 5 and four-player co-op.

Halo Studios has officially unveiled its next big project: Halo: Campaign Evolved, a new version of the campaign that started it all. Far from being a simple visual rescaling as we saw in Halo Anniversary, this title has been described by the development team as “the ultimate restructuring of the Halo: Combat Evolved campaign,” and most notable is the expansion of its scope.
Halo: Campaign Evolved will be released next year not only on Xbox and PC, but will also debut for the first time on PlayStation consoles. This platform expansion has a clear goal: to allow new and old players, regardless of their hardware, to enjoy the franchise and, most importantly, to do so together.
An Evolved Campaign Experience
The centerpiece of this ambition is the introduction of co-op for up to four players in the campaign, a leap from the original two-player mode. This feature will feature full cross-play between all platforms, allowing entire squads to traverse the Halo ring. To achieve this, the development team has had to increase the size of certain spaces on the maps and make difficulty adjustments to maintain the authenticity of the battles. Even the iconic Warthog has been modified, adding a new rear seat to carry the entire team.
In addition to technical tweaks, including a complete rebuild of weapons and environments with greater fidelity and dynamic lighting from Unreal Engine 5 (Lumen), the game comes loaded with content. The gameplay is enriched with the addition of dozens of Skulls, modifiers that make the campaign more challenging and replayable. But the most interesting new feature for veterans is the three completely new extra missions that have been included. These missions are intended as a prequel that complements the original story, providing new interactions between characters.

The work has even extended to the narrative. The developers confessed that they didn’t just give the cutscenes “a fresh coat of paint,” but completely revised their sequence and composition. To top it off, the original voice cast returned to re-record all the dialogue lines, ensuring that the fidelity of the story remains on par with the new graphics.
The team is already sending the first versions to the community, indicating that development is at an advanced stage.
