HBO has officially announced a new Harry Potter series based on the books

Harry Potter is coming back, and this time as a full series produced by HBO based on all of the original books that made the franchise super popular.

Harry Potter oficial serie HBO

HBO makes the rumors that were flying over Hogwarts official: the production company is working on a new adaptation of the books, this time in series format. The producers have not shared a single detail about this remake for the small screen, just a teaser trailer that you can see below.

Some leaks reported by ScreenRant ensure that HBO’s plans are to adapt one book per season. The production company’s ambitious plan is to have 10 years of Harry Potter’s epic odyssey in the magical world created by J.K. Rowling.

The movies cast a long shadow

The series will coexist with the adaptations on the big screen, which have already gone down in history with Daniel Radcliffe at the head. Obviously, the producers of the adaptation will look for other young faces that shape the wizards of Hogwarts. Will they live up to the legend of the movies?

Full screen

To see the first installment, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, we must go back to no less than the year 2001. 22 years separate us from a saga that continues with seven other films. In 2022 the cast got together again in the so-called “Return to Hogwarts”, a small documentary that celebrated precisely the 20th anniversary of the meeting of Radcliffe, Ralph Fiennes, and the ever-present Emma Watson. You can currently find it as part of the HBO Max catalog.

In the video game side of things, we recently got Hogwarts Legacy, which we described as “the best game set in the Harry Potter universe”. The school of witchcraft and wizardry opened before us so that we could feel its warm embrace as a fifth-year student. “The adventure is articulated within an open world of dots, but the stories told give cohesion to the world, the characters, and the protagonist himself. It is true that there are no moral decisions as such, but the player can shape the personality of their character through the dialogue “, we said. You can read the review here.
