HBO has revealed how many seasons the ‘Harry Potter’ series is planning to have
With 7 books of source material, HBO has a lot to work with when it comes to adapting ‘Harry Potter’ to the small screen… and they already have an idea of how many seasons it could be.
One of the greatest phenomena of our time is ‘Harry Potter’, the work of J.K. Rowling that captivated millions of readers around the world, a fact that only grew after it arrived in theaters, and that more than a decade after the release of his last film it continues to be a huge success. That is why a reboot in the form of a television series is such an appealing idea that it could not be wasted, and it is getting closer little by little, hoping that it will premiere in 2026 or 2027 and with an extension that can go much further than what some expected.
“If you look at 26 and 27, we begin a 10-year journey in the Harry Potter series, which we are very excited about,” said JB Perrette, CEO of Global Streaming at Warner Bros. Discovery, in statements to Deadline. An enormous extension, but it may seem logical, and if they stick to the seven books that make up the saga, the series could go further with new details that go even deeper into the work and, therefore, its duration.
A titanic task in the Harry Potter universe
A logical but intimidating length, as the series has not yet started filming and details are unknown about who will be the actors in charge of giving life to characters that we have deeply internalized around artists such as Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint. A titanic task that HBO has on its hands, but it could be one of the great historical successes of television.
