HBO releases never-before-seen scenes from ‘Game of Thrones’: The cast’s emotional farewell in the final season
The production company reveals moments experienced by some of the main actors as the series came to a close.
It’s been 15 years since we first saw ‘Game of Thrones’ on our TV screens. To mark this milestone anniversary, HBO has released a two-minute video featuring never-before-seen footage of the cast during their final days of filming the final season.

Watching the video, it’s impossible not to get emotional if you’ve been a fan of the series. Not all the main characters appear, but some of the most touching ones do. Kit Harington’s (Jon Snow) speech is one of the most moving. “I really feel like my heart is breaking,” he began through tears. “I love this show more than anything. It has never been a job for me. It gave me my wife. This will always be the greatest thing I’ll ever do and be a part of. You’ve all been just my family. I love you for it and thank you so much.”
Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) agreed that the show “has given me more than just a job.” “It has literally given me a family and given me an identity that I didn’t have. And the fans—thank you to all the people I don’t know. It’s amazing.” Sophie Turner adds a touch of humor to the video. At the time, she said she wasn’t much of a crier, and that she’d see if she’d get emotional when the finale aired. In the next frame, she’s in tears celebrating with the cast.
