Helldivers 2 fills up in negative reviews inside Steam after an unprecedented move by PlayStation

Trouble in Paradise for Helldivers 2. After the overwhelming success since its launch, a last-minute change by PlayStation in the PC version has caused the community to lash out against the shooter. The controversy stems from the fact that as of May 6, all new players will have to link a PS Network account when logging into the game, while existing users will have to do so as of June 4. Otherwise, they will not be able to continue playing.

Initially, linking was allowed to be optional due to the technical problems that plagued the first few weeks, but the measure will eventually become mandatory on the dates mentioned. The study argues that “account linking plays a critical role in protecting our players and upholding the values of safety and security provided " PlayStation and its games are maintained. “This is our main way to protect players from griefing and abuse by enabling the banning of players that engage in that type of behaviour. It also allows those players that have been banned the right to appeal.”

The community has shown its dissatisfaction on social media and through the rating system on Steam. From a global average of “very positive”, the game has recently dropped to “mostly positive”, and the metric is dropping with each passing hour.
