Helldivers 2 has reportedly sold more than 8 million units, according to a respected insider

The latest from Arrowhead Game Studios continues to stand out and is already one of the biggest video game phenomena of 2024.

Helldivers 2

Helldivers 2 has become one of the great phenomena of 2024. The success of the third-person cooperative shooter has surprised even its developers, but those who knew the first installment, albeit from a very different perspective, knew the quality of the product they were getting.

A little more than a month after its release, sales are in the millions, according to Doug Creutz, an analyst at investment bank TD Cowen, as reported by journalist Jason Schreier in Bloomberg. Creutz estimates that Helldivers 2 has sold more than 8 million copies, and that impressive number is growing by the week.

Helldivers 2′s outstanding figures come as no surprise to anyone who has followed the game’s success since its launch. A title that has reached more than 450,000 concurrent players on Steam and that usually has more than 300-350 thousand concurrent players on Valve’s platform. To this, we must add all those who play from PlayStation 5 and is that the title has the cross-play function so that PC and PS5 users can match in the game.

Helldivers 2, one of the great phenomena of 2024

The video game industry never ceases to surprise us, and beyond the big names, there are always titles that manage to become absolute phenomena, practically without suspecting it. Helldivers 2 is one of them, and everything it achieves deserves it because of its overflowing quality, charisma, and a bombproof gameplay that never stops growing.

In the opinion wrote by Meristation USA, our Mike Reyes highlighted that “The game itself is built to encourage cooperation, with certain weapons requiring two players to act in unison, like a heavy rocket launcher that requires one player to shoot while another reloads. Objectives often have players defending each other as they transport encumbering objectives throughout the map, or working together to realign satellites, all while juggling button combinations to complete objectives and call down the many offensive and defensive tools at their disposal.”
